Thanks, Anne and Samantha!

A wonderful friend made Emma this cute dress fro a tank top and some fabric.
I'm inspired!

Ok, here is my not so great attempt at my own dress.
I need to work on keeping the waist straight.
I like the dress a little tighter at the waist, but Emma says it's easier to play with it wider.

Emma has a drawer full of tshirts, but will only wear dresses.
This is the perfect solution!
She wears a 4T dress.
The tshirt was cut to about 9" from the shoulder.
I used 18" of 45" fabric.
I cheated and only used the serger because I hate folding, pinning, and cutting.
I serged the long ends and then serged the short ends together to make a tube.
I then pinned the tshirt and fabric right side together at 4 points.
I tucked the shirt into the skirt so that the unfinished inside edge of the tshirt was at the top.
As I serged around the edge, I gathered the skirt fabric (wider than the shirt).
Turn it right side out and - done!
This was a 10 minute project and used half a yard of $1 fabric, plus an old tshirt, so about 50 cents!

Here you can see two others I did.
